Shares of JetBlue are rising more than 15% before the market open on Tuesday as activist investor Carl Icahn took an almost 10% stake in the airline. Icahn, who purchased the shares in January and February, said in a regulatory filing that he believe JetBlue's stock is undervalued and represents an attractive investment opportunity. He has had talks, and plans to continue talking with JetBlue in regards to possible representation on its board of directors. But shortly after the ruling, JetBlue told Spirit that it may terminate the deal. JetBlue has struggled to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic while its bigger rivals have returned to healthy profitability.

The Transamerica Pyramid building is seen as tourists ride a cable car in downtown San Francisco, California, U.S., July 7, 2023. San Francisco has been waging for years a multi-pronged war on drugs and related crime, homelessness and unaffordable housing. "They do this for the Superbowl, they do this for conferences ... but nothing ends homelessness like a home," Boden said. The city has a homelessness rate of 887 people per 100,000 residents, according to a 2023 report from the San Francisco controller's office on 16 American cities. REUTERS/Thomas Mukoya/File Photo Acquire Licensing RightsLITTLETON, Colorado, Oct 5 (Reuters) - Kenya, currently the eighth largest geothermal power user, has more geothermal power capacity under construction than any other country, and plans to nearly double overall geothermal power output by 2030 as part of ambitious green energy goals. Once current projects are completed, Kenya will rank fourth on the global list of geothermal users behind the United States, Indonesia and The Philippines, and aims to generate over half of the country's electricity from geothermal sites, data from Global Energy Monitor shows. Map of global geothermal power facilitiesHowever, in areas where there is active tectonic plate movement and the Earth's heat can be tapped at relatively shallow depths, geothermal facilities can be a cost effective means to generate abundant clean power. WIDENING REACHRelatively easy access to geothermal sources has motivated Kenya to become a global leader in geothermal site development, and the country has boosted geothermal capacity by 375% from 2010 to 2022, more than any other major geothermal producer, data from think tank Ember shows.

Earlier this month, Pharrell Williams was in the men’s atelier on the second floor of Louis Vuitton’s corporate office in Paris, sunglasses on, surveying his new perch. “This window is different.”The window by his desk looks out over the small plaza on the north side of the Pont Neuf, where in just a couple of weeks, his first show as Louis Vuitton men’s creative director would take place. A 50-foot statue of the artist Yayoi Kusama, a Vuitton collaborator, hovered just outside. The rapper Pusha T and the streetwear innovator Nigo were milling about. I mean, the Seine River right there — it’s like the moat.”

Insider turned to Disney CEO Bob Iger's 2019 book for insight on how he navigates challenges. As Florida's largest attraction with more than 70,000 jobs, Walt Disney World is crucial to both the company and the state. During his first tenure at Disney, Iger orchestrated the $4 billion acquisition of Marvel without a single leak. Under predecessor Disney CEO Michael Eisner, board members said they worried that Marvel was "too edgy" and "would tarnish the Disney brand." File photo of Disney CEO Bob Iger.

A woman has accused her neighbor for trying to steal her $350,000 home in Long Island. Prosecutors allege that her neighbor, Aurelia Soogea, 35, forged the signatures on the deeds to the house to switch ownership. NBC reports that the deed to the house shows the transfer of ownership happened for just $10. Carra has said that Mika transferred the home ownership to his client in thanks for work Soogea did helping to care for the older woman. The news site reports that Mika's legal team says this is not true, and the two women had no relationship.

Getty ImagesMoving in retirement can unlock a big pot of money to help fund those post-work years. The typical person at the top 10th percentile made even more money — $347,000 — by using the "retire and relocate" strategy, Vanguard found. A quarter of all U.S. retirees have "the potential to shore up their retirement funding" by moving to a cheaper market, the report estimates. watch nowThis isn't necessarily a strategy Americans should use as the linchpin of their retirement savings strategy, however. "[However], if you're thinking of moving from a major metro area in one state to another, and your housing costs will be half, in general that's not going to be the case," Jenkin said.
Given there could be an earlier emergency, Rubio's seat was being moved from the MS-22 to a SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft, also docked to the ISS, Roscosmos said on Saturday. "If an emergency evacuation is necessary, Francisco Rubio will return to Earth on it (the Crew Dragon), and the Roscosmos cosmonauts (will return) on the Soyuz MS-22, it said. "The descent of two cosmonauts instead of three will be safer, as it will help reduce the temperature and humidity in the Soyuz MS-22." Four other crew members are currently on the orbital station - two more from NASA, a third Russian and a Japanese astronaut, who all arrived in October on the SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule. Russia has said, however, it plans to quit the ageing project after 2024 and launch its own station.
"It's just too high of a rate to assume that all of these great consumer businesses that make up the S & P can flourish," he said. "Almost every name in this group – the 40 names in the S & P 500 insurance sector – are within 3% to 5% of record-high prices," he said. "There's nothing like this in the market right now," he added. The iShares U.S. Insurance ETF is up more than 9% year to date, versus the S & P 500's roughly 19% dip. He also noted that catastrophic weather could give them the ability to get higher policy renewal rates and higher prices for those policies.

The rumor of an informant in Trump's orbit was fueled by new reports Wednesday. WaPo and CNN said a Trump employee was talking to the FBI over the Mar-a-Lago documents. On Wednesday, The Washington Post reported that a Trump employee had testified to the FBI of having been ordered by Trump to move boxes of documents to the former president's own residence in the complex. Those people, The Post said, described the witness as a Trump employee who is a key informant who had given multiple interviews to investigators. Some commentators, including aides, Trump's niece Mary Trump and former White House chief of staff under Trump Mick Mulvaney, have suggested that it could even be a member of Trump's own family.
